Stories form the core of my life. I narrate tales, use these tales to influence a change in classrooms, corporates, write books and nurture the actor in me by being involved in theatre, films and ad-films. Having spent the last 25 years donning multiple hats and playing various roles, I have always worked on incorporating my creativity, abilities and diverse skills in being innovative in every endeavour.

Storyteller
Over the last 7 years, I have travelled with my stories to a larger audience through my storytelling initiative “Golpo Tales Unlimited”. These sessions are designed and curated through an interactive mix of narration, music, movement, audience participation and meant for individuals of all ages.

Actor 
In my 25 years with the Film Industry as an actor, I was able to explore not just the Tamil Film Industry but also the Telugu and Malayalam film industry. I was lucky enough to be part of some of the most celebrated storylines such as  Minsara Kanavu, Jeans, Ghilli, and Singham. I also modelled for some of the leading brands like Cadburys, Pepsodent, KFJ, NAC Jewellers, Chakra Gold Tea, and Jansons Dhoti during these years.

Apart from being an actor, I also had the opportunity to work as an Assitant Director on Simi Garewal’s “India’s Rajiv”, a documentary on the life of India’s former Prime Minister in the early 90s. From then on, I also worked on many projects with leading directors P. Jayendra and P.C. Sreeram in their production house JS Films.

Theatre has always held my fascination and this brought me closer to some of the prominent theatre groups of Chennai like Crea Shakti and Madras Players. Drawing from my experience in storytelling, I have also served as an Instructor for young theatre practitioners to use effective storytelling techniques to hone their craft.

Marketer
While my journey with the celluloid continued to hold my fascination, I also explored my opportunities as a Marketer. Working with Qube Cinema Technologies (formerly Real Image Media Technologies) for around 18 years, I was able to garner experience through various opportunities in marketing and business development initiatives, especially when I worked with an extremely talented team that implemented DTS (Digital Theatre Systems), and introduced Qube Digital Platforms to movie theatres across India. These years of experience in Marketing helped me in assisting small and bigger organizations in modelling business growth using unique business methodologies. Read More >

Facilitator
While I have spent a considerable amount of time in storytelling sessions, I have also taken these stories to corporates and classrooms and developed tools by which these very stories can be used to effectively improve the morale, quality of students and the workforce alike. These workshops have not only helped students but also parents, teachers, working professionals, and organisations. During an interesting storytelling session, a simple question from one of the children who attended prompted me to author my first picture book “The Jungle Storytelling Festival” published by Tulika Books, in 2018 in around 9 languages.
